On the Mrs 2005 Expedition XLT 'sport' The P 265 70 R 17 continentals are shot at 40K.
No off road but wet and snow on NY Long Island winter roads.
Her sister has the same in an 06, just got 4 good years from Walmart about 2 weeks ago. Not crazy about walmart.
My Buddy can get Toyo open country HT for $160. each. plus install. A bit steep I thought.
Read Gereral Grabber HTS is one of the best on consumers. Mavis has them in black for $151.99 puls tax.
Any help or dealer reco,s on Long Island ?

Screw sears, ordered general GrabberHTS was told 3 days. Been 7 so far. And they billed my CC.

Grabber HTS are good tires, Consumer Reports rated them very well. Hope you hear from Sears soon.

You should've checked out Cooper Tires.

I used to buy used tires (P265/70R17!) as low as $40 each with 65% or greater tread. It's a good way to brand test as well. A lot of folks in my area upgrade to winter tires, and it never gets really bad in winter and for the sake of driving easy for two months, all seasons work JUST FINE. Still, if you look around for used rubbers, you won't be disappointed at what you might find. A lot also come with a warranty (30-90 days with roadhazard). I outfitted my 1500 Ram with Goodyear RT/S tires for $120 installed. I'll probably get another 25K out of them yet, or 50K total which makes the price worth while.

As of yesterday 11/28 I got the run around. Seemed all the MGRs. were sick, or out to lunch ! So screw it I went down On The Harley, parked her on the side walk in front of the main door. walked in and when everyone was quiet I said.
" excuse me, but I ordered tires on the 15th of this month, was told 3 to 5 days. Today is the 29th. I would like my tires today or a full refund"
Long story short I went home got the EXPY and ended up with Bridgestone APT IVs which were on sale for much more than the gen grabbers. Best part is the wife luvs them [ it is her truck]

Right on! I know where I am, tire shops are all busy this time of year. Mostly due to winter tire installations/swaps for summer treads. I ordered winter tires for my Taurus, and they were in stock! However, the shop was booked solid for the next week and a half. They squeezed me in and installed the tires on my spare rims as the car was busy. I swapped them on in about half hour in my garage. Would've taken me half that time if I had a lift *stares at the wife...*!
