Question Transmisson question?

Hello to all, I am new to the forum and have a question about the way my Expediton shifts. I don't like the way it shifts under full power. The shift is soft and just feels mushy, sorry for the tecnical terms. Can you install a shift kit like the old days or are all modifications made through a programer? If I have to buy a programer, who's is best? The only modification I have made is a cat back duals, I plan on an intake upgrade in the future. The truck is a 99'. Thanks in advance for any advice

Joe.

Re: Transmisson question?

Is it an 4r100/e40d 0r a 4r70w? There are shift kits for both there's a company called trans-go that sells shift kits, and they are internal modifications which requires removal of the main control.

Re: Transmisson question?

You might want to invest in a super tuner it has a code reader and is capable of ajusting your engine for increased power and is capable of adjusting the shift points and fluid pressure in your tranny.
