wierd thud sound when put in 4x4 and making a hard left... - Ford Forums

has anyone had that problem before? the first time i herd it,it sounded like i hit something. it sounds like the wheel is gonna come off. when i put it back in 2wheel drive and try it, i hear no sound. what gives???

I got the same on my 2000 expedition. This is my first 4 wheel drive vehicle, and others have told me that this is normal. I've had the truck over a year, and this has happened several times. Nothing bad has come out of it yet. If you hear different, let me know...

what your going through is normal try it in snow i bet you it wont do it i have had a big f 350 and 2 explorers and they all do it .....try to avoid turning hard in 4x4
