the new barra has 16" chaser wheels stock but the question is will they fit pre au .I know they 15 au fit my v8 cortina so the 16 should fit?????????????????????

To my knowledge, the EA - EL had different stud patterns than the AU.

The 5 stud pattern hasn't changed on the falcon. Only the of-set. If AU wheels fitted your cortina then BA will also. AUII also had 16" steel wheels!

the only thing stopping people using auII rims is the offset stud patterns r the same! but if 15in au fit ur cortina there should be no differnce with the 16in! what bout pre xd? casue they also have a different offset to the xd to el models does any1 no if the offset on the au is the same as pre xd?

The five stud wa introduced in Sept 1966 in the Falcon range with the XR. It was the same untill the end of XB when the centre hub was made bigger. This wheel sizing was used up to EL, when the off-set was change for AU.

XK to XP,
XR to XB,
XC to EL,
AU to BA.


I hope this clears it up a little.

I thought that they went to bigger centre in the XA, as the 15" globe alloy's on a phase III wont fit the centre of an XA (ie. there is a larger centre on the Alloys used on the XA RPO's and phase IV to the phase III)???
but anyway, the rest sounds about right :)
