I've got a 1994 Ford Aspire that was given to me by a friend a couple months ago. I've notice a thumping noise coming from the front passenger side of the car. It is really soft until I get to about 35mph, then gets louder as I accelerate. There is not noise while idling or turning. There is also no vibration in the steering wheel. The tires are new and balanced. Any ideas or suggestions?

It could be a worn tie rod, loose strut or a fender well liner of some sorts has come loose and is rubbing. If you can't visually see anything out of place, try a tire rotation to rule out a wheel/tire problem.

Thanks for the advice.

I had the tires rotated recently and the sound did get quieter. The fender is a little loose on that side, so that could be it. I can not see anything that might be rubbing.
