We get a thunk or clunk, take your pick from the from end when going over small bumps. Check all the rubber suspension parts and found nothing. Is it time to but new struts? IS there a test to determine is the struts are indeed the cause?

Good chance it's your swaybar links if they are the type that mount with two bolts, one on each end that go thru the frame and bar. They tend to loosen and rattle over small bumps. Take the nuts off and apply some Never-Sieze on the threads and re-tighten them.
