2009 ford taurus x rim size

I have a 2009 ford taurus x SEL AWD with tires 215/65/17. I was told that due to the size of the calipers on this vehicle that it takes a special type of rim to mount the tires onto as standard rims won't fit on the standard 5 bolt pattern ? can anyone who knows their stuff know if a standard steel rim for the winter that fits the tire size will fit on this car or is a special rim needed ?

Re: 2009 ford taurus x rim size

I'm not 100% sure. I do know the standard rim size is 17X7 5-100/114.42, 5-100 is the bolt pattern, not sure what 114.42 is unless its the wheel offset.

Try posting in the 2008+ Taurus section Ford Taurus 2008+| Mercury Sable 2008+ | Lincoln MKS | Ford Five Hundred | Mercury Montego - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks and Cars

Also might try contacting some of the online tire sites like DiscountTire or TireRack. DT has a section here on the forum Discount Tire Direct - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks and Cars you can post in.
