I have a 96 EL Falcon, short of slamming on the brakes, how can I tell if it has ABS ??? I cann't feel any vibration on the pedal when I brake hard and there aren't any lights on the console ?

Follow the brake lines from the master cylinder in the engine bay and see if they go into this large black box.

If they do you have ABS.

If they go direct to the wheels you do not.

Might take some looking though, as I think it was the EL's that had the ABS unit mounted in front of the LH front wheel, under the air box.

When starting the car, look for the ABS light near the airbag light on the dash, or
see if you have the ABS sensor ring in one of your front hubs. Its a ring with lots of holes in it near the inside of the brake disk. Look for a wire attached to the front shock and down to the back of the disk.

even easier - count the number of brake lines coming out of your master cylinder - if there are 2 brake lines then it has ABS, if there are 3 or 4 then it doesnt.
