I've just had my BA XR6 brake discs machined for the second time, the dealer told me they would keep machining them till they had to replace them I'm wondering if anyone has had their discs replaced yet and if they had to fight the dealer for them.
i think u posted in the wrong forum... this should be in the Garage forums..
Moving there now...

Ford will replace the disks when the machining would exceed specified tolerances (i.e. the disks would get too thin.). This cycle of machining and replacement will continue until the warranty runs out, at which time it becomes your problem.
Mine are starting to shudder again for the second time (27,000 km), and I've had a gutfull so I'm replacing them myself with better quality and performing rotors, pads, fluid and lines.

just had mine replaced and had to buy new pads which l think ford should supply as it is the pad rubbing on the disc which is making them warp, now trying bendix ultimates as race brakes said to use as this should be a bit more agressive on the disc which in turn will take the high spots of the disc, so we will see what happens.
Aparently ford is changing pad compound on the mk2 so we will see how this goes.
my car was out of waranty for 2nd machining, dealer said would continue machining till new rotor needed, no charges. As it should be,if your dealer is arguing shout more or ring Ford Cust Relations. Ileft mine a bit long second time cos I don't drive car often enough. Now my wife knows what to look/feel for she will let me know when it starts happening again.
I've had mine machined twice in 16,000Km, the last time they did it they told me that the problem would come back as they do not have a permenent fix for it yet. I've since put a PBR Performance upgade on mine which i belive is the same as the Ford preium brake option, plus it has slotted rotors and braided lines included. I couldn't be happier with brakes now, but i totally agree with the others the standard brakes are shiet. I don't understand why we should have to spend money on our NEW cars to bring them up to a standard they should have out of the factory with.
