Anyone know if there is different centre offsets for bathurst globes. I have late model CSA 15X8 in great nick. I run 225 60 tyres on a 9 inch rear in my xc and the tyres are rubbing on the wheel arch. Someone tried to tell me that the coupes had different offsets with there rims. Any Ideas???

They must be a deep dished rim(offset) for 225's to be rubbing, they arn't a very wide tyre for 8's,CSA made copy's off the original Globe's and I've seen a few around that are very deep looking maybe this is what you have because an 8inch rim with 225's on a XC should normally have enough room,how much is it rubbing you could get the lip's rolled.

I had 15x8 bathurst mags on my XD ute with a 9". With 225/60's itnever rubbed, with 265/50's it rubbed, and with 295/50's it rubbed a lot and needed the lip belted up and a touch of guard 'flaring'.

I would think a coupe has more room under the guard than and XD ute.

GalaxyXR8, it is only just rubbing just on the lip. I'm wondering what is the best way to roll the lip, with out damaging the fresh paint. Or am I better off angle grinding the lip back to stop paint damage????

I have 235/60/15 on 8" Performance wheels [Globe copies] no problem on my ute .

You could try running a round metal bar between the tyre and the lip, by using the tyre as the guide you may just bend the lip up enough to give you the clearance. I wouldn't take to the lip with a grinder as the lips are usually two panels spot welded together - by grinding them you may break the welds.

Another way is to cut the inside of the lip into little sections and then knock them up. Do it carefully and you shouldn't do too much damage to the paint.

The 15" x 8" Globe Bathurst Wheel has a very large offset (especially when compared to the 7" wide version.

I borrowed a set of 8" wide Globes with 225/60 HR15 tyres to put on the rear of my XB Sedan to see how they fitted. They rubbed on the outer lip, especially on one side. This is mainly due to the low guard lip on the rear of the XA - XC cars. It can be reduced by bashing the lip up flat but it will still rub on one side as the diffs are offset 1/4 of an inch to one side (for a 9" Diff) in the Falcons.

SMCINER1 you are spot on. As my 9inch is about a quater inch different from side to side. The tight side is the passenger side. I actually used the method of cutting the lip about every 2 inchs and rolling up the lip on my old falcon. It worked well with minimal paint damage. But this car has a more expensive paint job and Im wondering how the pro's do it. I'm wondering if I should ditch the 8inch globes and buy a set of 7's. These globes are in bloody good condition for there age, and CSA dont make em no more.

Go talk to a reputable panel shop they should be able to help, if you have a decent paint job you dont want to do anything you may regret,I think the easiest way would have to be to do something with the lip if you want to keep the rim's but a panel shop should be able to point you in the right direction.
