hey everyone

well recently ive had some troubles with my brakes in the ea and ended up getting the master cylinder replaced,

one of the troubles ive had is on cold days the brake fail light shows up on the dash, but it doesnt light up all the way if that makes sense, it glows very dimly but bright enough to notice

tonight i was driving home from my bros house and had the heater on, i noticed the brake fail light was glowing dimly again, so i ignored it as ive learnt to do,

anyway it was getting hot in the car so i turned the climate control off and at the same time the brake fail light turned off, so i turned the climate back on and the light came back on bla bla bla

so whats the deal hear? for some reason my climate control is triggering the brake fail light

anyone got any ideas?? if it helps when i have the climate control set on say face/feet and turn the engine off, when i turn the engine back on the climate control goes back to auto feet only and full fan (if that makes any sense) also when i turn the key to the start position (past ignition) the climate control turns the fan on full until the key goes back to ignition, then the climate will turn off then back on to full fan auto

i hope everyone understands this....anyway anyone got any ideas??

Mmmmm, interesting.

First, I would say have you done any work to the car lately.
Second, I would say is to check any wires and or earthing wires that may have been disconnected whilst doing any work.
Third, i would check the fuses, for any partially blown ones.
Fourth, check the switch on the new cylinder, and the one behind the brake pedal.
Fifth, usually a dim light or one in your situation usually means a bad earth somewhere.

Sixth, I really don't have any idea at all, and with the medication that those doctors have given me means that you shouldn't really be taking advice from me.

sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere. This would cause the light to come on, as you have slightly less vacuum with the climate control on to off, and this could be enough to trigger the brake fail light. Go to any good mechanic, and he can inject a dye into the intake of your car, and then monitor it will an ultra violet light, this will show where the leak is, then you just have to repair it. If it costs more that $30 to get it checked and fixed, i would be suprised.

rossi: this prob was happeneing with the old master, as well as the new, but yeah if it was happening with only the new one then it would probably be a fault with the switch, thanks for the reply anyway

blown v8: that sounds more than likley the prob, thanks for pointing that out, ill get it checked in a few days!
