Brake upgrades on a EA - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Just lookin for some ideas on what to upgrade the brakes on my EA to.
Its gettin a turbo slapped onto the side of it pretty soon so stopping power is pretty important.

I was thinkin of gettin DBA slotted discs and upgrading the calipers too, just not sure waht to. Any major difference between slotted and GOLD series discs?

Is it difficult to replace with better calipers like twin piston or something?

Im on a bit of a tight budget so value-for-money is important.

To be honest mate, there is no easy way to upgrade the calipers on the E series cars.
You cant go bigger discs without substantial modification.
your best options would be DBA Slotted rotors and a decent set of pads.

you neeed to look through the DBA catalogue and find what discs are the same height, then look at something like a set of 300zx 4 port callipers for them. Custom brackets reqd tho!

bah sounds like too much work for now. I guess ill go with DBA rotors and a nice set of pads.

You wont be sory.
but if you have a fair bit of money to spend, a decent upgrade is well worth it.
