Well I've been around all the local suspension places asking about lowering the suspension cheaply by installing new springs.
The best price was $360, but this involved a procedure of heating my current springs, etc to lower them (not cutting).
$400 was for new 'heavy duty' lowered springs all round, which is my favourite option so far. Donnellans wanted $450 for the same job, and another place wanted about $550.
Do these prices sound about right? I eventually intend to do some heavy modifications to my suspension, but right now I'm just looking to get it to the minimum legal height for a low price.

That's what I'm looking at doing mate. The good thing is that if ever I woudl be going on a long drive, I'd be able to have my "big" springs temporarily installed again. :)

Up here in sunny old QLD, I've been able to source Lowered King Springs for 90 bucks per end of the car. 180 bucks total in parts. Installing them myself.........just finding shocks to suit atm
by the way Jack, are you just gunna throw the springs in or are you going to get shockers to suit? I have personally been advised to NOT keep standard height shocks if Im going lower than 25/30mm
Well I eventually want to get a height adjustable set-up. While I am expecting crap ride and handling after I lower it, I am doing it for looks at the moment (a bit of an experiment really). Sounds like you got a darn good deal there. I guess Vic isn't quite so good in that respect.

obviously new shockies would be better, but it's fine to keep the standard ones as long as your not getting "super low" springs.
My EA has pedders springs and the other week i got 2 new standard height monroe shocks at the back and didn't really notice any difference to the pedders shocks that were in there.
My EF's running super low king springs and monroe GT shocks, which i don't think are all that expensive and it's a reasonably good setup.
springs shoudnt cost any more than 120 an end!! and since you are only going about an inch lower standard shocks (good nick) will be just fine. Nothing beats king springs super low with GT monroes for handling and cost!
