Full Monty

Since fitting Bendex ultimates to my EF2 Fairmont, along with having the rotors machined I have intermittently had the check abs dash light appear.

This began to appear more frequently, and I assumed it was in relation to the extra Dust being expelled from the pads perhaps dirtying the sensor??

I have since removed every wheel, and cleaned each caliper, rotor etc then blown clean/dry with compressed air..

the light still comes on dagnammit..

any hints as to what could be causing it, If I cant fix it, at least I know what im talking about to the Brake specialist.

Sounds like you have a dodgee sensor.

I have replaced all my discs with non-ABS ones, but the system didnt work anyway.

how much were the slotted rotors kerry? i need to put them on the back of mine

There is a set of NON, ABS rear slotteds on Ebay at the moment for $150.
I paid $82 each for mine, and yes they are DBA's, not RDA's.
I got mine from Hi Teck brakes, through Ebay.

Could be a sensor which can be easily diagnosed from ur ford dealer... but if not it could be the tone wheel which is situated inside the rotor... when the rotors got machined they could hav knocked the tone wheel causing it to either make contact with the sensor.. Or the tone wheel could have also been pushed back too far on the rotor itself..Thus casuing the sensor to recieve no signal.. Hope this helps..
