I read somewhere that all ED Futura Classics had ABS as standard??
Is this true...anyway i can tell if i have it or not??

To be certain look under the left hand side guard, in front of the wheel.
but looking at the age of your car, it probably has it.

The ED Futura Classic was released after the model Futura I have (93 ED), and I have ABS so your's would.

According to the book called "Ford Falcon" by Ewan Kennedy, ABS was optional on the GLi and Standard on the rest of the ED range.

Go for a drive, get onto a quiet piece of road.....


And SLAM on the brakes....push the pedal through the floor. If your brakes lock you dont have it, if you feel the pulses through the pedal than you do.

You could have done it in the time it took to write this thread.

that is if the system actually still works. if there is a bulb missing in the dash for it then there maybe a reason why it was removed. i was going to suggest the same thing but if the system is faulty then you may be tricked into thinking that it doesnt have ABS.

Look at the master cylinder. If you have a line going down to the RHF wheel, you don't have it. If you only have two lines going to the left of the car along the firewall, you do.

crap, just find a dirt road or wet grass, slam on the brakes if you stop you dont have ABS if you dont stop you got ABS

Thanks guys for the feedback,

It has ABS...but the system is disabled at the moment...will leave it at that. I assume it stuffed up for the previous owner and hasnt been repaired.
