Is it possible to change drum brakes to disc brakes without changing the diff on a XC? and what's involved.

I guess the housing is the same as the disc diff just mix and match. Remember the master cylinder will have to be replaced as well,more line pressure reqired on discs..
Why not take the leaf spring cariers off XC diff and weld on a E.A diff ??

just get a xd s/pack or fairmont diff or xe xf wagon diff there all 25 spline or ea wagons are leaf may bolt up the same lot of stuffing around with handbrake .

xd xf you can get for 150 or less
easy to fit
or get a fairlane zh v8 if you want tuff 28 spline 4 pinion.

I have a fairlane housing at home waiting for a ride to the dump. Includes axles and a 2.7 gears, no brake discs or calipers, or centre. I'm in Brisabane.

Hmm yes never thought of the station wagon.I used the disc hand brake cable, was 2" too long so I used 4 crosby connectors and some cable to shorten.Didn't cut cable.R.T.A passed it...

Hmmm.... maybe it's easier to just swap diffs.
EA diffs? are they better than XC - XE diffs?
