EA Ghia Wheel Polishing 101

Whats the best way to fix my EA Ghia rims, they have the standard problem of the Clear Coat lifting, and so are not look the greatest.

Whats the best way to strip them back?
Whats the best to polish them with?
Whats best to coat them with to keep em low maintenace?

Answers:
1. Paint stripper, then sand with 400 followed by 800, followed by 1200 to remove machining marks
2. Lots of autosol and lambs wool polisher
3. JNot sure, could always clear coat them, but then again it may not stick....

I know carsik has done this to his ghia wheels...maybe pm him...

Have you priced up professional polishing ?
I have no idea of the price, but I still remember the pain of polishing a 14 inch rim Admittedly I'm fairly lazy, but i reckon it'd still be a fair bit of work involved . . .
Hmm . . . someone had their sprint rims polished not long ago...

I expected that, not scared to put in a bit of elbow grease to get something done, I will take some pics before and after and the times it took me to get them done, just for anyone who is interested.

Plan date is the weekend 21/22 June, my wife works that weekend, so I get the whole weekend to spend on the car, instead of shopping
