The joints need to be pressed out. Rip the stub axles out and take them to a suspension place, unless you have a press, or, a big hammer, several old sockets, and a lot of patience.
Last time I had a set of balljoints done, I did upper and lower since the axle was out anyway. Total cost of $120 from memory, including supply of the joints and removal/installation.
Did my whole front end recently, upper and lower balljoints, rack, etc. The balljoints were the biggest pain in the butt to do. As they sit in the upright on an angle, and they have to be pressed out with a a special tool. Prick of a thing to do, especially when you have to find someone with the tool to do it. *&&^$#@
Thanx, after looking further into the problem I have found that the rack mont bolts were loose, so after tightening them the thing feels 110% better, still clunky though! :AAHHH:
if u cant press them yourself pedders charges around $12 bucks from memory.
