I get the brake failure light and my brakes arent very responsive at all.
I read in the manual that there are two braking systems (car has ABS) and when one fails (which it has) it switches to the other which is far less responsive.
I don't know much about cars but is there anything I can look for before I waste my cash on a mechanic?
Previous ride: EBII V8 Manual Ghia spring roll.
Current ride: 1970 ZC 351 Fairlane Custom.. (estimated 350ftlb @ 2000rpm.. max torque 420ftlb at 4500rpm.. with standard exhaust manifold!)
The other thing to check is, I have heard somebody on here before ( can't remember who) say they had a fault with the ABS which they couldn't trace, turned out to be the exhaust had melted the wires running to the sensor in the D/S front wheel. And the O2 sensor wires.
Is the pedal hard? Soft? Soft then hard?

Alex, that sounds like a pretty logical explaination on why mine isnt working.
I will have to check it out.
The fault has been tracked down the the right rear wheel sensor.
