Hi,

Dad drives a 94 EF Fairmont, a few months back the abs light came on, but only when you drove along, being a mechanic he automatically thought wheel speed sensors. He works at a place that have lots of expensive test equipment. He came up with the modulator being faulty. He knows this is a very expensive job, so disconnected the apppropriate wires to make the light go out. An electronic guru at his work suggested that they take the modulator apart and see whats up with it. Is this able to be done and would they be able to fix it? He doesnt like the idea of a used modulator, and a new one is too expensive! Thanks

It might pay to check the driver's front wheel wires. These often decay due to the exhaust, and can cause odd problems.

My dads Ef did the same thing, although it was a blown fuse, i changed the fuse and it stayed on, took it the the auto electrician he went crazy at me for changing the fuse he said it could have set the air bag off, he "reprogrammed" is put a fuse in and its been fine since then. I think he charged $25, at for they wanted $60, just to have a look at this. haha. anyways yeah just be careful u dont set it off by unplugging things...
