EL falcon disc warp

Has anyone figured out whats a decent brand of disc to shove on an EL that doesn't warp.

I've recently replaced the discs on my EL and it's done 15,000k's and the discs are badly warped already. I replaced them with DBA standards.

The stock Ford discs I let go for 190,000k's before I replaced them. They were badly warped also but had done a lot more k's than these new DBA's have. 15,000k's from a disc is pretty ordinary considering I drive about 30,000->50,000k's a year due to my work comitments. So I am not very impressed with the DBA's.

I've just put RDA rotors on my XB and are very happy with those. I've heated them up considerably and they are still perfect. 2000k's so far and I've given them hell.

Next rotor change what is a decent rotor to throw on. It's a daily run about. I am tempted to try the RDA's as I am very impressed with them.

Re: EL falcon disc warp

Its a mystery to me to, I've put new DBA standards on my ZH and within a few weeks they are rooted. I'm getting them skimmed and new pads and will see how it goes. The question is as in my post what pads?

Re: EL falcon disc warp

I like to run slightly harder pads than factory. I'd rather not have brake fade and wear the disc slighly. In my case that hasn't happened the discs have wrapped badly and the pads are still like new.

Brenx,
bendix recomended metal king for my ZH for towing, I'd imagine they would chew the rotors up?

Re: EL falcon disc warp

Yes, they would. Mine aren't metal material pad so they wouldn't be as harsh as metal kings. Eitherway we both shouldn't have premature disc warp.

Re: EL falcon disc warp

DBA standards with QFM Organo pads and the rotors are good for my cabs for around 100k.. PM me if you want info on the QFM pads, they are a local Qld manufacturer and by far the best non-asbestos pads i can find
