EL GT rims on a EF with superlows?

hi,

im planning on getting some EL GT Rims for my EF.

i want to order them from somewhere like SSV in Sydney (im 400km from there), which offer them with tires for a little under $1700

now, my question is, will they scrap the front gards? since the current tires sit about .5cm away from being in the gard, and these being wider, will i have any problems?

has anyone got this setup? if so, what problems have you had?

Thanks
Greenie

If the rims are genuine ELGT 17x8", you will need rolling.
If they are copies(from SSV they probably be) 17x8" you may get away without it
But its safer to do it.

Then if you cut the metal you need to paint the bare bits.

Re: EL GT rims on a EF with superlows?

You can do it this way but beware................you may end up with slight rippling. The best way is to slowly roll the lip up in one piece..........if you've got the tools and the know how.

I did the cut and fold thingy on the front of my XE ESP and it came out OK. But if you look real close, you can see the slight rippling that comes from folding small sections up in separate bits.

I'm about to do the rears as my 245's need just a little more room when the car is fully laden. The tyres scrub ever so slightly so this time I'm doing the panel beater thing and getting the lip rolled.

The danger with this is that if the paint breaks..............you're up for one hell of an expense as you'll need to re paint the area...............

I just used a hair dryer and a Rubber mallet.
Guess what, no paint cracks.

I fitted 255's under the rear without it being rolled.
