I had my front brake pads and rotors replaced this week on my 02 Escape. Now my ABS light comes on almost immediately. They checked the codes and replaced the REAR ABS sensor....another $45.00. Still NG and it's getting too expensive to be guessing. Any thoughts as the where the problem lies. Do I have to go to a Ford dealer?

Just an FYI for anyone interested. My problem ended up being with the front CV joint toner rings. I would call them gear tooth rings. They are pressed into the ends of the CV joints and are picked up by the ABS proximity sensors when the axle turns. Apparently the Escape has a problem keeping these rings in place, atleast with my 2002. They slip off the end of the CV joint and and freel wheel around the axle. The ABS switches sense something wrong and the system shuts down. My mechanic epoxied the passengers side ring.
to get me through but the drivers side is also loose. He showed me the problem while the car was on the lift. Looks like it's off to the dealer next week for new CV joints. Thought some of you Escape owners should be aware of the potential problem.
