Falcon Suspension geometry


Here are some pictures I have made which show Falcon suspension geometry in action. Pretty scary stuff, eh? These are measured from an XD. Other images show the effect of lowering the inner pivot of the upper a-arm by an inch using a negative camber kit, showing considerable improvement.

The roll centre is raised by lowering the inner pivots of the upper arms. This is shown by the white cross in the middle near the ground.

Nice to see a bit of engineering being used.

In summary;
pre-EA suspension geometry = poor
post EA SLALS Suspension geometry = MUCH better
(SLALS = Short arm, Long Arm, Long Spindle)

I still kick myself that I settled for the XG Ute (old style suspension) rather than spend a bit more for an XH (EA and latter style SLALS plus rack & pinion steering and better ride.)

Its just like looking at one of those things that show the baby in the mothers tummy(forget what its called!!).
