Just wanting to know people's experiences with Falken tires on the front of their Fords.
My 225/50/16 ZE-502's have proven themselves the *worst* tires i've ever purchased and i'm just wondering how many other people have the same problems ie: tram lining on normal roads, getting all over the place under braking, traction that make slicks look good in the wet, etc.
You already know what I think........................................
I'm going to try the Sumitomo HTR Z series next.
They're the only "affordable" tyre in the 225/50/16 and 245/50/16 sizes that I need as I want to keep the same tyre and tread pattern front and back.
Michelin Pilot Sports are $515.00 per tyre for the rear only !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you call up about the pirelli? Same price!
I've decided to stick with the Falken's on the rear, I've never had too much of an issue with the back stepping out and I can't replace the 255/50/16's even if I wanted too.... but the fronts are gone. I'm going for 225/50/16 potenzas... $230 a pop though.

Sure did,
Pirelli don't bring em in anymore in that size
What a shame.
The 245/50/16 really limits my brand and pattern choice, but I think the Sumitomo's are a world ahead of the Falkens.
I've also got your missing IMPCO pieces today from the Dyno guys.
I'll mail them out to you tomorrow.

Do a search on this subject and you'll find what you are looking for. There have been numerous posts on these tyres.
I have ZE 326s on my car. Great in the dry, but $hithouse in the wet.
They are so bad in the wet, that I won't drive the car if I don't have to and I don't scare easily when I'm driving.
I also have ZE - 326s on my car and know exactly what you mean. Dry is great imo, but, yeah in the wet they are sh!t. Its been raining down here in canberra the last few days, and all i can say is these tyres imo are dangerous. I spun my car for the first last month during the rain, yes it wsa wet, but these tyres are really poor. Honestley the worst i have ever driven with. i can arley do the speed limit in the wet, without worrying if the back end is going to give way. They dont even come close to compare with the goodyear eagle f1's i had on before these
I've got ZE-512's on the front and they are very bad for tramlining and under brakes they are even worse, but the grip of them seems pretty damn good to me. when I get some spare money i'll be replacing my back tyres (some shithouse cheapo brand, but fun in the wet), putting the new ones up front and the falkens on the back.

275/35R19 ZE326 - no traction in the wet or dry! They would smoke up at a touch of the accelerator. I honestly had better traction from my 205/65R15 Pirellis. If you're after a cheap tyre with ample grip, look at Sumitomo or Nexen brands. Or if you're a smart shopper, you'll shop around, get some prices and go to Beaurepaires who will beat any price you get elsewhere on a Dunlop or a Goodyear tyre. That way you can have really good tyres cheap.
