i pull my spare rim out the other day to find that there is a flat spot on the inside edge. i dont know how long it has been there for but the tyre wont hold air in it. is there neway this problem can b fixed? any help would b great.

If it's a fairly cheap rim, piss it off and get another one. They're hard to fix and it's not worth the hassle to get the tyre out in 8 mths time and find it flat.

There are some specialised wheel shops around melborne that can reroll the rim to fix your problem,call a couple up to find out prices,shouldn't cost more
than $100, I had some Momo extremes that i sraped bad and they came
back like new.
