Focus Brake Lights Problem

Hi all

I have a 2003 Focus and have a problem with the left rear brake light. I have changed the bulb and yet it will not work when the brakes are activated. The other bulbs on the light assembly works. Do you think it is a contact problem...I noticed that the wire leading to the connector is a little short...?? Any help will appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Focus Brake Lights Problem

probably just a wiring problem. take it to your dealer and make em fix it. thats what they're there for after all.

.....maybe.....if they screamed all the time for no good reason.

Re: Focus Brake Lights Problem

In saying that tho, not everyone's cars are still under warranty, remembering that this site is used by people from all over the globe! If it is in warranty, take it back to Ford.

If the car is out of warranty:
You've tried replacing the bulb and still had no luck, check for corrosion inside the bulb holder (where the bulb contacts the wires), or if all else fails, take it to an auto electrician!

Cheers.. Tim

Re: Focus Brake Lights Problem

Tim it's a 2003... it's in warranty no matter where you go. But good point about checking the contacts... otherwise it IS a warranty job.

Where you from zeeblingblong?

Indeed... must have brushed over it!

The point remains tho, because you can change stuff to take the car out of warranty - I should know

Cheers... Tim

Re: Focus Brake Lights Problem

isn't your rear vision mirror still covered? Or do the aftermarket Bling-Bling Fluffy Dice (TM) restrict the operation of the mirror and put undue weight on the mount?
