I have a 2002 Ford Escape with approx. 48,000 miles.

This past day the brakes suddenly failed on my vehicle.
I took it to the dealer and they told me it was a rotor
problem and not covered under warranty.

Here are the specifics....

* Wheel cylinders leaking
* Front brakes down 3 ml. of grading
* Rotors grooved need replacement

They are charging me close to $1K to fix the brakes.

It surprises me that the standard warranty (and the additional
100K warranty I purchased) does not cover failed brakes nor any
of these problems at this early stage of the vehicle's life.

Should I be arguing with the dealer about this or should
I just empty my wallet?

Sounds a little high , I would be getting another quote , brakes are consumables so I doubt the warranty will cover them but is there some sort or factory mod that should be applied providing at least some cover .?
maybe they are not telling you >
anyone know if this is an endemic known situation ?

if the car is still in warrinty , there is a posability that the leaking wheel cylinder may be a warrinty consideration
