Re: Front wheel vibration on braking 1999 falcon

Did you thoroughly clean and abrade the disc-hub surface to ensure the rotors sit on the hubs straight?

Did you evenly tighten and torque wheel nuts?

Also ensure wheel alignment is true.

On car machining is often a last resort.

Anyway, at $120 each I just ditch the old rotors everytime. Not worth machining.

Re: Front wheel vibration on braking 1999 falcon

I just got my Rotors machined on the car,Cost $50 for both and was a much finer finish than when I took them in last time.If I take them in to get machined it costs $16.50 a Rotor + fuel to get there, this time it was done in my Garage where I could watch the job getting done,I had to take the wheels and Calipers of Of course for the $50 price.

Re: Front wheel vibration on braking 1999 falcon

ford has made all dealerships buy an on car disc lathe to fix the brake shudder problems on the ba series and from talking to a friend at bendix he tells me the problem went back to include the au series as well ford did the ba under warranty twice it was good for about 2 weeks then the shudder comes back i put bendix advance pads in that made it 80% better i think i will just buy some dba rotors and fix the problem permantely the original rotors only have .9 of a mil left till undersize and ford will only put the same crap back on under warranty so anyway to your question its got to be a runout problem so oncar machining should fix the problem thats if they are not genuine rotors or for the price replace the rotors cheers greg ps keep me posted how you go
