Good Quality 16" tyres

Anyone know of a top quality 16" tyre.

I need 245 x 50 x 16

The only tyres I've found are Falken and Hankook.
The Yanks have HEAPS but we don't seem to have a big choice.

easy, Dunlop Sport 3000a's, the grip on these is stunning to say the least. Only problem is that, after 4 drag meets, I've worn my rears to about 60%. (sarcasm, they are very well wearing tyres, at least 45,000ks under normal wear). As for grip, nothing I've had prior is even close, including Pirelli Dragos!

But do they make em in 245 x 50 x 16. I need em for the rear.

The fronts are 225 x 50 x 16 This size is dead easy to find from any manufacturer.

I'd like to keep the fronts and rear the same ( I'm so bloody anal )

Re: Good Quality 16" tyres

I had the Hankooks on my 16" mags (245/50), they were good but without having compared them with any others... Maybe one of the other brands could import a couple?

Having done a search, the following are listed on the Australian companies websites - Toyo Proxes FZ4, Kumho ECSTA KU21, and wait for it, Nankang EX500. You can also get Nitto's in that size.

As far as price goes I paid $180 for a Hankook H101 last October when I needed to replace one. Also don't expect any dealer to have this size in stock, but they should be able to get them within a day or three.

Re: Good Quality 16" tyres

Thanks Guys,

I might investigate the Hankooks.
They make a SILICA tyre in that size.

I'm hoping they're better than the FALKEN ZE502 that I have at the moment.
The fronts tend to tramline, even after a wheel alignment.

Let us know how you go, I would be interested to know what is available in this size, how many $ and what you think of them.
