Hey fellas, my shitty hand brake cable snapped on my eb today at uni, i was pulling it up and it got stuck, it didnt actually snap it was just threaded.
Anyways had to drive home with hand brake half up, lucky i wasnt far!
There is three bolts in the inside of the cabin to take the hand break lever out, 2 on the floor and one up on the dash, (if you have done this before im sure you know what im talking about)
Anyways when i losened the top screw i noticed there was a black wire coming from this screw, acting as an earth for something i suspected. When this bolt was lose the wire fell from it with the other end being cut.
So it was held onto the bold but the other end was cut. I have no idea what this is for, does anyone out there know?? The one for the light "hand brake" still works even with this one cut so im suspecting its not for that.
Any help would be GREAT.
Aslo does anyone have one they may want to sell? The hand brake plus first part of the cable? PM me if ya do, rather profit someone off FF than an arogant wrecker, any idea how much they should be worth? Thanks fellas.

The only wire I can remember had to do with the dash light so con't help out with that query. Don't get one from a wrecker, it'll be no better than yours.
From memory they're only ~$35 bucks from your Ford spare parts counter brand new.
It would be an earth for something aftermarket - but if it's been cut I wouldn't worry. Whatever it was has probably been removed. At a guess, if the car is or was on gas, it is possibly for the gas gauge/switch. As for the cable, definitely buy a new one. Cost me $28 from Ford in May last year.
Damn i went out and got a second hand one today and fitted it, i got the cable only with out the hand brake, out of about 15 cars i found half the stuff i wanted to get, it was that pick and payless place, its ok but the stuff u want isnt there, i got the cable, oil pressure sender, L.H.S mirror (glass part only,), drivers side door hinge for plus alot of odds and ends for $20. i fitted the cable today and i noticed the car i took the hand brake off didnt have that black wire so i ignored it. I thought it would be about $100 new, should have checked, oh well. Thanks guys.
