I know that genuine parts have always been expensive..but ford quoted me $157 and $150 for the 2 cables for the handbrake for my '86 telstar..$307 just for parts..the car is barely worth that...does any1 know who makes the cables for ford? i have heard that u can sometimes buy the cables direct...alot cheaper..i tried mazda (626) but it wasnt much cheaper($100 each i think)..and supercheap/repco etc dont sell em.i have done the trip to the wreckers only to find telstar drivers must do too many handbrakies..all cables worn out..by the way im in brisbane but im sure postage wouldnt be that bad..i just need the name of the company that makes the cables please

Did you try All Ford Wrecking in Clontarf . Just call em on (07) 3883 1950 . You might get lucky.
