i have an NC, current tyre sizes are 205/65/15 all round, with some aftermarket mags (original spare stil on boot), i want some bigger tyres and im wondering how much bigger/wider i can go legally in SA, i have used http://www.inf.bme.hu/~zed/onlinetools/tyresize/
and i am after some 17's i think,
Tyre code Diameter Circumference Difference
---------- -------- ------------- ----------
235/45 R17 643 mm 2020 mm -0.65 %
how far will that difference put my speedo out by, will this mean i will be going faster than the speedo is reading or slower, and lastly will these fit onto my car wihout altering anything?

Reason: spelling
In S.A you can go 1 inch wider and 1 inch up in diameter over the largest factory wheels available on your model, I'm pretty sure. Were any 16" wheels available on the NC from the factory? If they were then you'd be able to use 17" legally.

just read http://www.geocities.com/falconfacts...eltd/ncdc.html
optional tyres were 16" on series II, and optional tyres where 225/50/16 so it looks as though i will be able to get some 235/45/17's on.
now just to find a pattern i like

You can actually go 2" larger as long as overall diameter is within a certain amount.. Not sure about width though..
i also need to find a set oh wheels that i like for sale as well as the spare $$$$$, im thinking some 17's off an AU? or BA, something with the blue ford logo in the middle or even some Ghia mags
