Hi Peoples please help,
i"m tring to do my shocks and springs on the front of my Xh falcon ute. I have done numerus set's of shock and spring changes but on different cars, magna's, pajeroes, corollas, this one has me buggered cant get the spring compressors in enough cant take the hole strut assembly out. I gave up for the night and gonna get stuck back into it 2moro.

Have to put the interior back in, i got sick of grey and sparyed everything black with a few silver inserts here and there. looks cool, i got the idear from one of the posts in interior section, God love Ford forums.

Raise the car on Jacks/stands.
With the suspension free undo the 3 small nuts ontop of the shock tower...
NOT the actual shockie shaft nut!!!!!!!!
Undo the lower shock mount & remove it as a WHOLE unit..
Now use you spring compressors & undo the shaft nut....
Bingo..

i tried that the whole shock assembly wont budge. ill tri it again tomorrow when i've got a bit of energy thanks anywho

svo347 is correct another tip is once the 3 bolts on strut tower are undone and the bottom bolt is removed turn the steering left to remove and install r/h side and vice versa for l/h just lift the assembly up and over the lower control arm and lower it down between the rack and lwr control arm till it clears upper control arm then move assembly out of the vehicle take note before you pull the assembly apart that the 3 studs on the top are slightly off set from centre and must go back this way cheers greg
