Well I was doing some suspension work, and was just about finished, when of course SOMETHING HAS TO GO WRONG(as always). Well I was going to bleed my brakes, because I have purchased 2 new bleeder valves because the old ones were dodgy. Well anyways, I took the one out of the drivers side, so I could take it down to the brake shop to compare for some new ones.

I put them in, and bled the passenger side front fine, then I tried to bleed the drivers side and nothing came through!! So I figured okay there must be some air in there, so I got my bro to pump the pedal for a while. Well the fluid finally got there, so then I put the valve in, and got him to bleed it. Well it was going good for a while, but then the fluid stopped pumping through(not even air) and the pedal can still touch the ground :( and there is plenty of fluid still left in the resivoir.

Any idea's why it's sometimes pumping it through and other times not? Help!!

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder?

How do I do that? Doesn't involve taking it out does it?

My brakes have been pretty shitty for a while, I think this might be more then just a bleeding problem, like the mastercylinder is rooted.

There are instructions in there on how to do it. Hope that helps. You can do it with it still in the car or out.

Yep did that, still found out that air was getting in. There was fluid pissing out of the back of the resevoir tank, so the rubber gromet seal must be leaking.

Looks like it's time for a master cylinder rebuild anyways.

ouch that has to hurt. Well atleast you did the benchbleed. Not many people do.

I had the same problem, had to replace the master cylinder, was sucking air.
