I have a 64 XM and want to fit some bigger wheels, at the momment it has some depressing 13 inch jobs with 70 series tyres with plenty of room by the looks for bigger diameter. I was thinking about some dragway DB100 billet mags 17*7 with apprpoiate low profile tyres, would these fit without any modifacations. Or similar sizes from other manufacturers. Basically I am just want to know if someone has ever put 17 inch mags in an XM with ultra low tyres if need be?

Not sure what the XM's are like guard wise but I do have a vague idea. I'm guestimating you could so more than a 16" rim. Don't worry about if it clears the front guards as most will. There is more room in the front inner guard.

It's the rears where you come unstuck.

I found this out with my XB when from 14's to 16's. Any more than a 16" wheel means guard lipping/inner guard modifications/weird wheel offsets to clear suspension. I've got almost no clearance.

ive got 18'' on my xe which is pretty low all i asked for was pre au fitment and they never hit and the lipps arnt rolled

It's not very hard when yopu don't have leaf spring suspension like we do. There's a major difference. Too big a rim/tyre and it hits the leaf spring.
