i have a 87 XF station waggon and when i put it in park
and pull up the hand brake it still roles back some times.
ive got a feeling that the previous owner might have left
the hand brake on whlie driving and streched the cable. idn
sometimes old people do that.
does anyone know how to cheack and tighten the hand brake?
if so it would be appreciated.

Jack front drivers side of car and you will find adjuster roughly under drivers seat, release handbrake and tighten cable using 2 x 1/2" spanners, loosen lock nut, adjust slack, tighten lock nut then check handbrake handle travel.

don't use a jack use ramps if you have them

just for the sake of telling you guys, i had the same problem with my XC falcon with the disc rear end, and to make the hand brake work correctly i actually adjusted the cable off some more, as the calipers are designed to work with the full extension of the cable
