i have a 87 crown vic wagon. i have the stock rims which are 15" by 6. i was wondering how wide a tire i could put on the rear, the factory recomends a 205/70/R15 or the optional size of 215/70/R15. i have installed the larger cargo springs in the car so there lots of room in the wheel well. any ideas on how large i can go?

You can go with a 225/60R15 with no problem.

Thanks for the response, however my car has always sagged in the back end even after I installed the larger cargo springs if I installed a 225/70/R15 or 225/75/R15 would that be acceptable or too high for wheel well I don't want to be bottoming out.

225/70 might be ok. the 225/75 may be too tall.
