Im bored at work and thinking about this the other day.
What is the widest 17 inch wheel/tyre combo you can fit under an E series without major modifications to the wheel arches? Rolled guards would be okay.

Would it be possible to get AU2 XR8 replicas widened like you can with stockies?

Other than looking really tough I think I may some more traction in the future. Plus it will look tough.

Alternatively what is the widest tyre I can put on an 8 inch wide rim?

I'm putting 18x10's under the rear of mine the, front is bit tighter though at the most 9 inch wide

Dan i have run 255's under the ass of mine, without the guards needing rolling.

and widening the alloys is not as simple as increasing a set of steele wheels

I have 285 30 18 0n a 18x10 under the rear of mine, and there is still more room, just have to make sure that you get your offsetts correct, and have all nolathane in the rear end to control lateral movement, or better still, a heim jointed watts bar.

I have a new set of FR18'S in black, never even driven on, to fit EL, 18x9 and 18x8 if you want to put some tyre under it. These wheels are brand new, $2600, paid $3300 and have never used them.
