Knocking and tapping when I full lock at low speed

I got this weird knocking when I turn my AU close to full lock at low speed. It is slowly getting worse. Is it bushes or something?
I have the gregorys manual but it doesn't really seem to help. It isn't a constant regular noise, kind of random in its pattern but mostly happens when the car is cold.
I just really want to know roughly what it is and a good place in SE Melb. to get it looked at. The dodgy shell servo I used to go to were wank and brushed me off when I kept asking about it. bunch of tossers imho.
Thanks

Its just the steering rack being loose.

Take it into Ford and they will tighten it up. It doesn't take long and don't worry it's a common fault on the AU series 1.

My '99 AU S pac did the same thing. Ford tightened it up and it never did it again.

yep same thing on mine

a guy from pedders heard it and said "mate, your racks f*cked, can do a new one for you for $1500"

$5 later after taking it to my suspension joint proves to not always believe what your told by "professionals"

mine was doing that too
they put a wheel balance wieght on the inside of the rim which was causing the knocking sound. removed it and the noise went?
recently had a wheel alignment?

Could be one of two if it's a series 1. Steering rack mount bolts loose as others have pointed out, and the second is the front upper balljoints will need repacking with series three lubricant. Common problem with series 1.
