Mags or not?

Ok guys;

So far ive like my current system (at the moment anyway)....and im deciding if its a good idea putting 17" wheels on my EA;

Is it worth blowing 1500 on wheels that really just show off the car? leading to people break in; and get a hold of my precious woofer?

Just would like to know your opinion on this....Pros/Cons

I mean i would be happy with just cheap alloy wheels (dont know where to get them)

Well Its really a personal choice. Mag wheels will make your car slower to accelerate and slow down due to the mass being further toward the outside of the wheel. They however will make the car handle better. Is your car lowered? I personally think cars that have mags and aren't lowered look pretty aweful sometimes. What sort of mags are you looking at? The Ea - Ed falcon is the sort of car that can look plain ugly with the wrong sort of mag on it. Don't ask me why. But thats my opinion though.
Also the cost of rubber will go up as well.

Wheels look great, really make your car look something special. Wheels are probably the thing that will affect your cars looks the most. However, are they worth $2000+? I was going to buy a set of wheels which all up would have cost me around $3000 with tyres. While they look great, are they $3000 great? They're not worth the money, unless you really desperately want them. If at the moment you just have hubcaps look at getting a set of Ghia rims and polish them up, they can look sweet, and will only cost you about $100-200 from a wrecker.

At First i really really wanted them....but then one night I thought about it; and wondered if it was worth all the trouble...

my car isnt lowered; but if i were to get them i would of lowered it anyway.

I drive to uni everyday; cost benefit analysis: Not worth it.

Thanks for your insight guys.

If your not too keen on getting wheels, then don't, or else you'd regret it.
But it WILL make your car look 10 times better (dumped as well) - you'll be very proud!

Do It!

Where do you park you car when you are at uni? want to be in a secure place or you might come out one day and find your falcon up on blocks.....or dropped on its bare rotors

Yeah, mags make my car.... people always come up to me and comment on the big 17 inch Tickfords (with lowering of course). I love em, got them nicely locked on with lock nuts though....

Best thing I ever did to it.

Rims are cool, and Laminge is right, they can make the car. I've got 17" Boyd Coddington's on mine and they are the best thing on the car. You see people pulling up next to you at traffic lights checking them out hehe:)

BUT, if your on a budget nothing looks cooler than seeing stockies under the guards of a car that is LOWER than LOW!!! If I didn't spend so much money on the Boyd's, I'd have either polished EA Ghia rims or silver interceptors with 15" G-Grid rubber! This looks tough IMO.
