max manufacturer rim size rating on EA

hi guys

i was wondering if anyone could help me out. i was looking to get 17" rims for my EA series II wagon, and wanted to know what the maximum size that is recomended by ford for this particular model? i rang up vic roads, and they said i can go whatever size that is plus 15mm in diameter, and 25 in width.
any help would be great
cheers!

Re: max manufacturer rim size rating on EA

17 x 8 is the biggest rim you can 'legally' fit, but make sure your insurance company agree.

Re: max manufacturer rim size rating on EA

thanks for that mate.
i actually rang the insurance company, GIO, and the woman there said they couldnt care less what size they are as long as its considered road worthy. which is why i rang vic roads to find out. so does that mean if i had 17x8s it would still be rw?
thanks for your help

Re: max manufacturer rim size rating on EA

No Wild6 you cant, same argument goes for the EB GT having 17 x 8.5 rims you cant fit 19's (people have tried the arguement with insurance companies)

BargeEA - yes 17 x 8 is roadworthy with vic roads last time I checked.
