My struts are getting really bad because the car will keep hopping on the left rear and experiences body sway. I wanted to know if it is possible to this kind of repair my self and some instructions.Do I need to get a left rear and Right Rear strut or does it really matter ? Also what tools do i need for the job ? I'm trying to reduce cost and pick up some repair skills at the same time. Appreciate the help guys.

Buy a manual and have a look. You should replace struts in pairs. You will also need a spring compressor. Make sure you buy a GOOD one!!! Strut springs can severely damage human flesh and bones.

thanks for the reply everyhing looks fine ont eh car (2002 Ford Focus LX sedan) but I think it was the shocks that need to be replaced. Would you happen to have any info repair how 2's and if I can do it ?

We have no idea what your capabilities are. You have to determine what you can or can't do. Invest a small amount of money and buy a repair manual for your vehicle. It will usually tell you if you need special tools or not. Most likely, if you have to ask if you can do it or not, then you probably shouldn't try it. Improper tools and procedure for this type of repair can get you hurt badly.
