Need info on restoring GS S/wheel - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hi guy's I've come across an Fairmont wagon XY, that was in a paddock so I stopped and asked the owner if he would like to sell and to my surprise he does, on closer inspection it has a GS steering wheel that has the centre emblem but the glass is cracked can this be fixed, I know the rim's can be fixed if cracked but it's only the emblem, also this fairmont has the chrome trim around it that is in IMACULATE condition, I have seen some trim before but these ones dont have any dint's in them I was totally surprised, I'm an expert on the trim's because they are the 1st thing's I look for on any Fairmont, I have quite a collection of these at home,the doortrim's are in good nick just the chrome is fadded,it has an elec tailgate and best of all a complete 250-2V with the original stomberg,it also has a C4 auto, there is heap's of part's to go with it, it also has a complete noalathane suspension all for $700, the pannel's have the usual rust spot's but straight, what do you think,

No apollo it's about 1hr away it's allway's been there when I've travelled past and one day I thought I'd go and see and yesterday I asked and he said he would sell it, now I have to find someone who has a car trailer to get the thing,if I do get it.

i dont think the centre peice can be fixed as it is clear plastic. they might be available in reproduction from rare spares or GT Ford performance. good pick up on the car BTW.

I just bought it tonight,it also has the complete fairmont trim, including T-bar, a ton of spare part's that I have to sift through to see what I want and dont want, the motor run's, and there is also another XY wagon with part's to go with it, I found out that the GS emblem can be sourced and fixed in the middle of the rim,so I'm rapt that I finally have a GS wheel,all this for $600, not bad I say.
