Need to replace shocks after lowering from tickford suspenion to superlows - Ford Forums

Going from Tickford suspension height to king spring superlow height.
I was told you could get away with the rear shocks but the front would need to be replaced.

Is this true. im sure its best to have all four replaced but with what type shocks and how much.
also, whats the go with bushes?

Not a bad idea to do this. I put Superlows all round and 82 series Konis in the back of the XR6, as the rear shocks were stuffed. The car used to wallow around at the front. Today I put Koni 82 series shocks in the front to suit the lowered springs and it is just a different car. It doesn't bounce three times after it hits bumps anymore, and the understeer is all but gone!

I know it's extra money, but well worth it. If Konis are too dear (mine were $200 per corner, plus fitting) Monroe Gas are a good replacement (I think Tickfords are Monroe anyway).

Not sure what you mean by your reference to the bushes?

Most shockie brands have "lowered" spec options available - prices will of course vary with premium type ones (like Koni or Bilstein) being roughly $200 each as JVC8 has said.

It could also be worth doing a search and tracking down one of those places that modify and revalve shockies - they might be able to offer a good exchange deal? (ie. send you some shorter ones and you send your removed ones back to them).
