New tyres for the XE - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hi all,

Its new tyre time for the XE, and I was after some opinions. I'm after 215/65 R14 spec, to go with the nice set of original 14' alloys that I've just picked up. I'm not after anything super expensive (probably can't get expensive 14's at that spec anyway!) and would appreciate some thoughts on the following:

Yokohama S760
Toyo Proxes H1
Dunlop Monza 200
GT Radial Champiro 65
Bridgestone RE92

I have Toyos on at the moment and they have lasted me 40,000kms, seem to have performed OK...

Try Kelly Chargers, they are pretty good value for money, I've had them on mine for about 25000Ks and are still in very good condition.

If you dont want to spend a lot of $$$, have a look for Sonar tyres, approx. $90 each. Quiet, long lasting and good grip. IMO better in the wet than the Yokohamas on my XR6, and equal in the dry. I had a set on my XF, did over 55000. They can be hard to find and I have only ever seen them in 215 14 or 205 15.
