Thats right, my power steering fluid in the EBII looks like pepsi. ffs

i have flushed it out with new fluid, (put 3lts of Valveoline D type through it)

The steering was making weird noises before now its all sweet sounds like new again.


What causes it to go dark brown blackish coloured.

Simple Heat!!!!!! Try running a small cooler or put the heatsheild back on if it's off!
Failing that run a small oil cooler & 10w engine / hydraulic oil better temp tolerance & wont stuff up nothing! (despite what ATF purists that have no idea will tell ya!

holding it against full lock for more than a second heats up the fluid an unbeievable amount and it gets burnt.

also just age - i wouldnt imagine it has been replaced in living memory has it?
