premium brakes

Has anyone got the ford premium brakes on their utes?

i think fords price is around the $3k mark. i can get a brand new set fully installed, warranty, new pads all round. their the 330mm front with the 2 off-set circles with massive calipers, rear consists of slotted and cross drilled? for $2k

does anyone know of any problems with these brakes?

or would it be better to get slotted or slotted and drilled all round with new pads for $800?

i just want some better stopping power....

Thanks
Teza

Re: premium brakes

Do ya mean ya can get a set of Ford Factory ones for that price?
I had a set on my first ute and had no probs with them, stopped bloody good as well.
Alot of people are complaining about the noise they make but i never had any real problem with mine even though they only did 3500 kays.
I won't be getting them on my next ute as i am getting some other options and it's pushing they price up to much, and i was a bit disapointed that the rears only cop standard size discs and calipers with the disc being grooved.
I personally will be uprading them at a later stage with some Brebo's or AP racing's probly, depending on whats around.
But for 2k they are probly a bargain.
I wanna take my to a track day eventually for some hot laps and want to have some decent brakes to handle it.
Cheers....Nath

Re: premium brakes

Flavze, I wouldn't worry about the rears too much, with a different pad and the grooves to allow gas to escape they'll do the trick. Better front brakes will increase weight transfer anyway.
