I'm looking at a set of EL GT wheels that the owner is claiming are genuine.
The wheels are interstate so I can't see them except for photos and one thing that has aroused suspicion is the centre caps. The photos show the wheels with caps with the Tickford wings on them. I was positive that genuine EL GT wheels had Ford on the caps.
Am I correct?
Regardless, I'm interested in the wheels but I won't pay as much for copies if I get them!!

if the caps arent the same colour as the rim and has tickford wings they are fakes. Genuines are 17x8.5 and have unique centre caps

Thanks guys, I'll put this to the seller. He may honestly not know they are copies if he was told they were genuine when he got them, or he could be trying to flog them off as genuine to someone knowing they aren't. I'll see what the response is.

i think of memory they also have ford stamped into one of the spokes, get the guy who is selling them to take a photo of the back of the wheel

Mate, on the rear of the wheel, one spoke will have CAV1 ROH 01 cast into it, and another spoke will have 864 1007 AC cast into it. They will also have 17x8.5 and a stamped number on other spokes The numbers theoretically go from 001 to 230, but who knows how many more wheels Ford comissioned ROH to make.

Not important now anyway.... A**ehole sold them to someone else. Hopefully the buyer doesn't believe they are genuine, cause they ain't.

One day I'll get some damn EL GT rims without being screwed around :(

I've got EL GT wheels, I doubt they're original cause who'd give up there originals? Mine are 8.5 inch all round and have the little tickford wings, i think my centre caps are plastic, I'll have a look on the back for those numbers.

By the way does anyone know any places where you can get gutter makes off my rims, bloody christmas lights and not concentrating! Its not like bent just a scatch :-(
