Hey Guys,
Great forum. I've recently acquired a 99' Ford Taurus and I am in the middle of replacing the rack and pinion. My question is in reference to the little plastic like orings on the connections from the high pressure and return lines to the rack and pinion. When I removed these connections the plastic oring was actually imbedded in the first two or three threads. Is this the proper way to seal these threads and what is the proceedure the ensure it is done properly?

I would say, at an educated guess, that finding the o-rings like that was not correct.
